The Kiwis whipping up a treat for those who need it most

Here at Kiwibank we love to take time out to say thank you. Every year we reward some of the most inspirational Kiwis up and down the country with our New Zealander of the Year Awards and we want to continue this gesture over the holidays.

In the spirit of Christmas we’ve got behind the good hearted folk who bake treats for those in need at Christmas - so to help sprinkle a little love this festive season, we’ve teamed up with the charity Good Bitches Baking.

Good Bitches Baking bring a little extra sweetness to New Zealand with their unique model that enables volunteers to share their kindness in the form of baking, which is then shared with not-for-profit and community groups across the country.

Since their launch in October last year, they have grown at rapid pace with hundreds of volunteers across ten chapters and were nominated and received a New Zealander of the Year, Local Hero award in Wellington last month.

Founders, Marie and Nic have invested their time and money into baking a recipe for success – paying for cake boxes, fliers and merchandise and spread the word and increase donations to recipients including Women’s Refuge, the Salvation Army, City Mission and more. When they discovered that some families had never tasted home baked food or even received gifts, their fundraising efforts doubled to help the neediest people in the country.

We love their passion, enthusiasm and dedication to making NZ a little sweeter and would love your help in bringing Kiwis Baking Kiwis Better off to life this Christmas.
